bringing sons home

Capstone is a licensed residential treatment program serving troubled young men (14-24) who struggle with substance abuse, family conflict, and personal problems including loss, hurt, anger, abuse, depression, low self-esteem, defiance and a rebellious attitude. The average length of stay is approximately 3–3.5 months.

The Capstone Mission: Capstone joins families in the battle for their sons so they can grow up to be young men with successful lives, purposes, and relationships. The purpose will entail things that are connected to the gifts divinely given to the individual. The relationships start with God, then spread out to wife, children, friends, and humanity. To win this battle, a boy must find his “true self” as described by John Eldredge in Wild at Heart. Satan and his evil forces are at war with the Trinity to prevent these young men from finding their true selves and subsequently, from fulfilling their purposes. This sets the stage for Capstone Treatment Center.

Christ-Centered: Capstone gets its name from I Peter 2:7 because every aspect of Capstone reflects Christ; however, He is never forced on anyone.  The Capstone experience cultivates spiritual growth, not religiosity. Capstone is not associated with a church affiliation, just Christianity. Capstone is built on Biblical truths and principles common to all Christ-centered families including: the Trinity, the Cross, the Resurrection, faith, honesty, purity, commitment, grace, diligence, mercy, love, and forgiveness.

Capstone Licensures:

  • Adolescents 14 – 17: Troubled young men with or without substance abuse: Arkansas Department of Human Services *Division of Child and Family Services.
  • Young Adults 18 – 24: Troubled young men with substance abuse: Arkansas Department of Human Services *Division of Behavioral Health Services

Professionally Staffed: All of the Capstone therapy staff have degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy; five with Master’s and three with PhD degrees. Research has shown that Family Therapy is the therapeutic approach that is most successful with troubled youth.  Capstone has a 3 to 1 resident to therapist ratio. All have one or more of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, Licensed Associate Counselor, Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or a Counselor in Training through the Arkansas Substance Abuse Certification Board.
