Aaron Etheridge
LAC

Aaron EtheridgeAaron is another talented therapist and strong Christian man that God has led to Capstone.  Aaron began here as a night man and then was an intern while finishing his degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am very thankful for his arrival now as a therapist and am for the gifts he adds to the program. Aaron is a gifted musician, singer, outdoorsman, and rock climber. As a former gymnast, his skill as a rock climber coupled with his knowledge of the sport, is a real connection to the residents. We would love it if all of them got hooked on rock climbing and Aaron is going to help tremendously in this area.  Aaron also loves skiing and spending time with friends and family.

His artistic gifts in music and singing are an automatic opening with the residents. This is a medium that almost all of the boys connect to and Aaron knows how to separate the “good” music from the “bad” and help the young men see it. His ability to connect with the residents goes beyond his love of music.  He has a strong desire and commitment to make a difference in the lives of other people. He is genuine and humble. He also has a love for life and for laughter. His laughter is contagious. Aaron’s brother Ben has been at Capstone for 2 years and we are thankful for the example they will set for the residents in modeling what a God blessed brotherly relationship can look like.

Aaron was a student of mine in graduate school so he’s been taught and coached on the Core Model of therapy in a most intensive way. One thing that I have learned over his time as my student is that he understands the Capstone core concepts as well as any student I’ve had. He has a natural ability to present and lead groups. This will be invaluable to his success with our residents.

I think that the most important thing about a Capstone staff member is how strongly they walk with the Lord and how open they are to listen to the Lord’s leading. Aaron has a strong commitment to Jesus Christ and knows how to use his abilities to plant seeds for good.

Aaron just got married to Amy which obviously upped his position in life. As with the rest of us men here, he married up and we are glad to have Aaron and Amy as a part of the Capstone family.

Aarons’ favorite Scripture is Hebrews 10:12-14, “But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.  Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool, because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.”
