Aleks Fatula M.S.M.F.T /LAC
Therapist
Aleks Fatula joined the Capstone team in 2005, and I’m especially glad to be working and fighting in this mission with him. Aleks has a lot of ability as a Capstone therapist and he has the heart to drive that ability. His abilities as a therapist are cut from the same type of cloth as the rest of the therapy staff, as is his heart; however, Aleks brings his own uniqueness to the table. He has a rich family and individual history in fighting battles for good which has prepared him to be a Capstone therapist.
His ability to connect with the residents as well as get inside their mind is very strong. Aleks understands the trials and trouble of the drug culture which gives him an exceptional insight as to where our young men are coming from. He has a big Christ-like heart and builds very good relationships with everybody. Aleks sees the big picture which is a vital asset when working with residents and families.
Aleks was a student of mine for two years and I had the honor of watching him grow in immeasurable ways during those two years. I have often said that he grew more than any other student I have worked with. In this time of growth, I learned about Aleks. He is a humble yet strong young man. He has a desire to grow and learn more about himself so that he can learn to help others. Aleks is a deep thinking intellectual with a heart for the mission of Capstone. He is always thinking and working over in his mind the task at hand or the conversation just finished. This trait allows him to reflect, learn, and grow.
Aleks was born in Monterey, California but grew up in northeast Pennsylvania. He is the oldest of five children. He attended Harding University where he received his Bachelor’s degree and then went on to the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Harding as well for his Masters degree. Aleks and his wife enjoy the outdoors and cooking.
Aleks has a Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is a Licensed Associate Couselor. Aleks is married to April, who is a writer for the university public relations department at Harding University and clearly makes Aleks a better man. I am glad that Aleks and April are in the Capstone family. Aleks is trained in ropes course facilitation and will be a strong asset to our team.
Aleks’ favorite Scriptures are:
Ephesians 6:10-12
“Finally be strong in the Lord and in his might power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms.”
2 Corinthians 12: 9-10
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardship, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
