![]() Dane Joneshill, M.S.M.F.T / LMFT / LAC When searching for people to work at Capstone I have a tough set of criteria that must be met in order to be considered for a position. I hear sports commentators sometimes refer to an outstanding player as being the “complete package” for his position. Well, that’s Dane Joneshill. He is a strong and dedicated Christian man, husband, and father. His heart is totally committed to Capstone’s mission, the rest of the Capstone team, and the Capstone families. Dane is a very talented therapist both with the boys and with the parents. Dane has a God given ability to connect with residents and their families. He does an excellent job in individual therapy, leading groups in therapy sessions, and in family therapy. He has the ability to see the big picture and to lead a resident and family in the direction they need to go. Dane is also talented when leading wilderness treks, rock climbing, ropes course activities, and other adventure programming. Each Tuesday, the residents at Capstone spend a day on the ropes course. Dane has a passion and love for experiential learning and takes on the planning and development of the ropes course. He trains staff, designs and plans new ropes course elements and plans days on the ropes course so residents max out on what they gain from those days spent on the ropes course. Adventure days benefit greatly because of his willingness to accomplish this task. When it comes to connecting with boys in a relationship that fosters a strong spiritual growth, Dane is way ahead of the game. I think that most companies, businesses, and programs in American can be successful by hiring people who are qualified on paper, in other words, the right degree, certification, licensure, etc. At Capstone it can’t work that way. Our therapists must have the proper credentials but that is only the beginning filter. Many people meet these criteria but few would fit in as a Capstone therapist. A Capstone therapist must fit in with the people atmosphere that permeates Capstone; men and women with divinely given talent and sense of mission who live the adventure of Christianity. I believe that Dane Joneshill was made to be at Capstone. He maintains humility in his life that allows him to grow each day. He has a tender heart and a warrior spirit, like many of the residents and other staff. We are proud to have him. Dane is among the “typicals” as far as Capstone husbands are concerned, he married up. He and his wife Hannah are the proud parents of Alli Kate, Josiah, and Maia. We are very thankful to have Dane as a part of the team. |
