MS in Marriage and Family Therapy
EMDR Part II

Steve Armitage started working part time at Capstone sometime in 2002 as a night staff and workday crew leader. It was evident that Steve had a special gift in connecting to our residents and a special heart for this ministry. Steve is married to Meredith, which was way up again. They went to China as missionaries in 2004 and 2005.
Steve had long wanted to become a therapist at Capstone and upon his return from China, he continued to work and save his money. I hired him to do the Bible study and worship on Sundays and he was so effective that we actually changed our Sunday format to a more productive protocol. In 2006 he became one of my graduate students in marriage and family therapy. He was in Jim Galyan’s class and my, what a talented group. I’ve actually hired four out of that class and there were more that could have been a Capstone therapist. Steve, along with Jim Galyan and Ryan Butterfield, was the glue to that class. Now, Steve in his very quiet way that everybody knows about, is a glue in the Capstone team.
He brings an exceptional talent and experience to the team. Steve is enthusiastic and breeds an optimism that encourages all of us. He understands how to overcome challenges in his personal life and uses that wisdom to help our residents. Steve is one of our older therapists and brings a maturity that contributes greatly to Capstone.
As I mentioned, he married Meredith and they have an awesome son, Robert. He is Steve made over, although much better looking because of Meredith. I love to see Steve with Robert and hear him tell stories about him. I am so thankful for Steve and the awesome person and therapist he is.
